Securing the future today
Xpect has the courage and ability to invest fully in research to improve sustainability in every step of the global procurement chain. Our research and thinking helped define and shape corporate sustainability concepts, including the use of new materials and the improvement of our carbon footprint. The most important part of sustainability is the combination of the economy together with the environment and society. The use of sustainable materials and manufacturing should go hand in hand with the improvement of human health.
Xpect promotes the use of recycled or responsible materials including the standard use of FSC wood. Whenever plastics need to be used, the first drill would be to research if the item can be made from recycled materials. Recycled PP or recycled PET are implemented more and more as a first choice. To maintain this first choice of recycled materials, we constantly promote the use of these materials to our clients. Other materials used are bamboo fiber and recycled paper. Bamboo fiber is an versatile material that lets us replace plastic wherever possible. We developped many items including sunglasses, cutlery, lunchboxes, cups, plates and many more. Recycled paper is mostly used for paper straws, which will become our standard with the future ban on plastic straws. When it comes to packing goods, biodegradable materials are worth the research. Whenever goods need to be protected during transport, we look for the possibility of the use of PLA bags, which are biodegradable.
Xpect works with partners both in manufacturing and transport who can indicate the implementation of sustainable ideas and their execution. Working together with partners who accomplished to achieve the lean&green award or fully commit to the zeromission project which compensates the use of CO2 provide a certain peace of mind to Xpect. Manufacturers are subjected to stringent testing procedures to meet and often exceed the latest industry standards. A succesful Sedex 4 pillar and BSCI report are some of the important necessities before becoming a partner of Xpect.
